Hi all, when it comes to support for parents of kids with eating disorders you've found the right spot.
Your situation right now is challenging enough without feeling alone and scared and helpless.
After sitting in a plain waiting room all alone 15 years ago while my daughter was being diagnosed with an eating disorder I decided that someone has to change the way parents get support when a child has an eating disorder.
Take a look around the site and see the resources, services and support options.
One of the many ways I support parents is advocacy and educating health care providers.
The photo is at the 2014 M.O.M. March of me and a sister of someone who died from an eating disorder. Here is what I'm up to the fall!
- October 15 - St. Louis County Health & Human Services Conference in Duluth breakout presenter HOPE: Shift Your Perspective on Supporting Those with Eating Disorders and Their Families http://www.stlouiscountymn.gov/Portals/0/library/government/departments/phhs/hhs-conference/2015-Conference-Broch.pdf

- Oct 28 - Eating Disorders Coalition Lobby Day - lobbying our Federal Govt to help get the Anna Westin Act to go to the Presidents Desk. Read Anna Westin's Story in my book, Just Tell Her To Stop: Family Stories of Eating Disorders. It was an honor and privilege to write Anna's story. To see it grow beyond the book into a law that is going to save even more lives reminds us why it is so important to keep Anna's voice alive.
